Jar of Happiness

Hello Friends,

Today I am posting a card I made using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set from Stampin Up. I have fallen hard for this set. There are so many possibilities!!! I gave this special card to my new grade level chair. She really seemed to enjoy it. Giving hand made cards always make me smile.

Back to School

Hello Friends,
This week was Back to School for two of my kiddos and Back to Work for me :o)
This year I moved back to the 2nd grade team. Every year I always make something special to welcome my team back to work and this is what I came up with for this year....

They are mini hand-sanitizer holders!!! Which we all know are perfect for teachers who have to work with young children and snotty noses LOL!

Kindergarten!!!!

Hello Friends,

Today's post is completely dedicated to my sweet little boy, Trevor. He is 5 years old and in kindergarten. PTA was able to snatch up my creative side and so I made 80 of these cards for the yearly school Kinder tissue tea event. Hope you like what you see! CAUTION: This inside of the card may make you cry, I know it did for me so please read with caution and maybe with a Kleenex!

First, I had to make one for the girl kinders and one for the boys that is why there are two variations.

So this poem was placed inside the card, words were changed to accommodate a boy or a girl.

It definitely made me cray, which is funny because this is my sweet Trevor's 2nd round a kinder but I guess either way, we are never ready for a little ones to grow up and need us less.

Here are the two cards I made. Oh and Yes that is a very tiny tissue box which I carefully folded up one tissue to fit inside of it! The blue and orange are our school colors. I made the blue card for the boys and the orange for the girls.

Card Size: 4 1/4 X 5 1/2"
Card Palette: Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, and Pacific Point
Stamp Sets:  Papillon Potpourri and Flowering Flourishes

Beautiful

Hello Friends,

Today's card is another tunnel card I made. I wanted to make one with a dangling object. I think it would be such a lovely surprise when the person receiving the card opens it up. I also LOVE the colors red, black and white together. There is something so elegant about that color combination.
Have a lovely day!
The front of the card uses the triple time stamping technique but I also included a popped up flower for an additional pop to my card.

Here is the card opened. The butterfly is attached to some fish line to create a floating in air kind of look to my dangling butterfly.

Card size: 5 1/2" X 11"
Card Palette: Basic Black, Real Red, and Whisper White
Stamp Set: Creative Elements

Time for Another Challenge

Hello Friends,

I am excited today because I finally caught up with my blog challenges. I was behind by 2 challenges and then today is the day to post another. So I sat myself down, had a talk with myself, made a commitment to get busy and create until I caught up!

No I am not crazy, just needed to remind myself that creating makes me happy and relieves tensions; with back to school shopping, 106 degree weather, and keeping my twin 2 year olds busy, I just couldn't pull it together. But now that I am caught up I hope you will go back and view the last few challenges, I promise they are quite lovely, if I do say so myself. Have a great week and I will be looking forward to seeing what you create this week!

Here's my card...

Strawberry Margaritas, My Favorite!

Hello Friends,
Today I am sharing one my favorite card that I have ever made. This card is made from a set called, "A Cherry On Top". I love this set! So putting on my creative thinking cap, I decided to try changing around the design to come up with more than just a cake dome and this is what I came up with. You could make it into several different styles of drinks, but since strawberry margaritas are my fav this is what I came up with. Hope you like it!

Make Someone Smile

Hello Friends,
Here is another tunnel card that I made. I think it is such a sweet card. the saying just in case you cannot read it in this picture says "So many smiles....begin with you!" Then every time they see it, it will bring a smile to their face!

I Just Love Gingham!

Hello Friends,

Today's card is a technique card. I made it using a brayer, an embossing folder, and two different inks. I wanted to make a gingham print background to match the center of my Daisy stamp. It's such a fun technique and would look great on baby cards, a picnic card, or even just a hint of background paper for any card. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Monster Birthday

Hello Friends,
Today's card is one I made to celebrate my nephew's birthday. A little over a year ago he chose this stamp set as a set he would like to play with. I promised him that I would use mine and make several different types of cards with it so he could see how versatile this set really is. If you browse through my past posts and find December 2011 you will find the cute pop up Christmas card that I made him. In the next couple of days I will be posting several other monster cards that I made. I even made a couple in a girl theme because monsters can be for boys or girls.

Anyway, this is called a tunnel card. They are so much fun because when you open them up you get a sweet surprise and they look great standing open on a desk or shelf.

Flowers for Friends

Hello Friends,

Today's card is one that I re-created from a card I saw on Pinterest! I really love that website. I love this design because I got a chance to spend time coloring which is one of my very favorite activities. Did you know:

Definition: Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The creative process involved in expressing one’s self artistically can help people to resolve issues as well as develop and manage their behaviors and feelings, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and awareness.
Anyone can use it, you don’t need to be talented or an artist, and there are professionals that can work with you and delve into the underlying messages communicated through art.

Anyway, after I relieved some stress by coloring I cut out my pieces, layered some paper, added a little ribbon and a mini tag and Viola my card is complete!! Hope you like it.

The shapes placed on the challenge card does not have to be exactly like the layout and the card base does not have to be the same size as my sample. Be creative and have fun, that is the real reason I post these challenges so that you can become inspired to try something new! Enjoy and Good Luck!
